Dear participants, partners, friends, aerobatic enthusiasts,
we must announce with great regret that 22nd FAI European Aerobatic Championship 2021, Breclav, Czech Republic is canceled.
The reason for the cancelation is the inability of Aeroclub of the Czech Republic as NAC and its Executive Board to keep up to commitments with FAI and sign the Organizer Agreement. Even though the Local Organizer of WAAC continuously and clearly declares its own commitment to organize the Event and CIVA/FAI in good faith expects that commitment will be fulfilled.
DECLARATION OF CIVA:
Dear CIVA Delegates and aerobatic friends,
I regret to confirm that the situation regarding WAAC and EAC in the Czech Republic this year remains unresolved. Despite a long series of exchanges over many months between FAI, the CIVA Bureau and the President of the Czech Aero Club, the NAC has so far failed to sign the FAI Organiser Agreements and together we have not reached a final solution.
In parallel with this complex situation the Bureau of CIVA has been vigorously pursuing alternative solutions, among them some clearly able to provide the structure we need. It is not yet time to provide details, but we are now confident that both WAAC and EAC will be able to run this year to the same or a similar timetable in an adjacent country, and of course with full Category-1 status.
Entry moneys already committed are safe and will shortly be returned to each competitor so that, when the final details are published in a few days, they will be able to refocus with the new organiser.
I promise that more news will be circulated as soon as we are able.
With kind regards to you all,
We declare that the current situation was not caused by members of the organizing team, Czech Airsports Center, Aeroclub of Břeclav, CIVA, or FAI.
Aeroclub of the Czech Republic as holder of sporting powers for CZE refused to fulfill its commitment and has not signed Organizer Agreements with FAI. The championship was originally planned to happen in 2020 but was postponed due to COVID to August 2021. CZE Delegate stated during the 2020 CIVA Plenary meeting that all preparation continues as planned and CZE NAC is committed to supporting the organization of the Championship. Suddenly in December 2020, Aeroclub of the Czech Republic started to push Organizer with the requirement, spreading of lies and half-truth statements. The beginning of 2021 showed that the only requirement is the change in organizing staff, namely the person of Contest Director due to personal antipathy from the President of the Aeroclub.
This personal revenge of President of Aeroclub is disparagement of members of the organizing team, sportsmen, participants, and great name of Czech air sport.
Aeroclub of the Czech Republic received the final call to sign Organizer Agreements with a deadline on Wednesday 16th of June at 1800 UTC. There was no reaction. The reaction came during the night with usual abusive and false claims as during the past few months. The next day on the 17th of June around 1030, however, came to a message with an offer to create a new OA where there will be a condition of the supervisor to Contest Director. Then the President of Aeroclub will sing. This offer came after a deadline long after CIVA already started motion with plan B. Due to understandable mistrust of CIVA, this was refused with fact that any such offers can’t be taken seriously since there is no belief that the President of Aeroclub will not try to ruin the Championship organization any further. All this communication suddenly happens 2 months before opening briefing rendering later fundamental no-go decisions and alternative solutions impossible.
President of Aeroclub of the Czech Republic, Mr. Vlastimil Dvorak, with the support of the Aeroclub Executive Board effectively and without doubts, caused unquantifiable harm to the Czech air sport on national as well as international level. It will take many years to get back the trust and successfully bid for the international events. Mr. Dvorak falsely states that he is the one who is trying to save the Championships and trying to find the solution. Absolutely without shame, moral scruples, basic rules of decency lie about the whole situation and accuses people related to an organization with false claims without evidence. Past communication sometimes even happens without the knowledge of Aeroclub Board members but on their behalf. We do expect that Mr. Dvorak will try to turn the whole situation to his advantage to free himself out of guilt by saying that he was the one who offered a solution and was trying to help the Organizer by negotiations and so on. We consider it crucial for the air sports community as well as for the public to not accept such games and presentation of reality.
Described situation is also the same for the 14th FAI World Advanced Aerobatic Championship 2021, planned to be held in Hosin at the end of July 2021.
